Early Years Hygiene and Safety Training at Tenderfeet International School

Early Years Hygiene and Safety Training at Tenderfeet International school

In September (2016), I did a promo on my FaceBook group to give 3 schools a free Safety workshop either for their staff or students. The three schools who won were Tenderfeet International School, Pasture Gate Montessori School and ABC Homework Place.

We contacted them immediately, agreed on topics and dates (except one who was hard to reach) and made arrangements to visit them and deliver the training but it had to be done in October. Everyone seemed busy so we extended the deadline to November.

So on Friday 11th November, 2016, I went to Tenderfeet International School in Ajah to deliver a session on Health and Safety with emphasis on Early Years Hygiene and Safety.

It was supposed to start 1pm and end 4pm so I had to pick the most important aspects to discuss – making sure that at the end of the 3 hours, they would have gained knowledge they can immediately apply to their jobs and lives.

I got to Tenderfeet at about 12:15pm. I love to turn up on time so I can set up my equipment and have a chat with the staff or management before the real deal.

We felt so welcome by the Director (Mrs Tolulope Fapohunda) and her Headteacher (Mr Joel Olaniyan). I had taken my laptop and projector with me but lo and behind, I step into their hall and see that they have already set up with their own equipments and microphone! I was thrilled.

On the screen was a welcome message for me and my team. Oh what a joy to work with people who are so organised and prepared to learn!

The training went smoothly with me in my usual fashion using stories and throwing in some tips on work ethics.

And at the end I got a standing ovation and their special way of clapping (some “roll it” and at the end a praise – something like “you are great!”. They are a praying school so the Director asked them to stretch forth their hands and pray for me. I was moved (nearly to tears but I had to hold it back lol).

Not forgetting the gift packs my “PA” and I got. (Notice the red bag in the photos?)

They loved the session so much and we ended up taking lots of pictures! I loved my time there and do not regret for one second going there. It was a distance but it was so worth it!

Next stop will be Pasture Gate or ABC Homework Place. Watch this space.

Oh and enjoy the photos and video clip (coming soon).
